Music-second nine weeks
Week One- Nov. 3-7
Second grade began the class by playing the game, Telephone, and then discussed how the secret passed from student to student was similar to folk songs which are passed from generation to generation. In addition, folk songs change over time as they are spread by people singing them to one another. By the end of the class, students were able to describe their first music vocabulary word, "folk music". Students also began to learn their first folk song, "Dip, dip, and swing". They learned the "ostinato", a part in music that repeats over throughout the song, as well as the verse.
